about
Hello! I’m Karla (she/her/hers). This is the home of my art direction, graphic, and motion design client projects.
My design philosophy is that a kinder world is possible, and I hope my work helps you visualize that. Intentional design choices and their effects on human rights and climate justice are always at the forefront of my process.
I studied traditional drawing at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design and went on to graduate from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a BFA in Animation.
I was born and raised in sunny San Salvador, El Salvador. I currently live in rainy Vancouver, BC, with my wife, a sweet little dog, and a sour little cat. I am a settler making my home in the occupied traditional lands of Coast Salish peoples – I am indebted to those who have cared and continue to care for this land.
When I’m not doing client work, I make short animated films, draw picture books, write on Substack, and pray that my dog and my cat become best friends.

Hire me to art direct, illustrate, design, and animate.
And please, e-mail just to say hi! I love saying hi.
